Our Story
Wind Bender started in 2005 when Robert McBride opened the doors of Wind Bender Mechanical Services in Jamestown, Ohio. The idea was simple: provide quality HVAC work to Dayton-area families at honest prices, show up when you say you will, and never cut corners. That approach earned Wind Bender a reputation that spread by word of mouth — neighbor telling neighbor.
As the years went on, the business grew. Plumbing was added to serve customers who kept asking, “Can you guys handle this too?” The team expanded. The service area widened. But the core promise never changed: treat every home like it’s your own.
In 2023, Mathew Near acquired the company to carry that legacy forward. Mathew saw a business built on real relationships — a team of skilled technicians who genuinely care about the families they serve — and knew it was worth protecting. He rebranded the company to Wind Bender Heating Cooling Plumbing LLC and invested in the people, training, and equipment needed to serve Dayton even better.
Today, Wind Bender is still family-owned and locally operated. We’re still the company that answers the phone when your furnace dies on a Saturday night. Still the company that explains your options in plain English and charges a fair price. And still the company your neighbors recommend, because we earned it — one service call at a time.

Our furnace stopped working on a Saturday night in January — below zero outside and two small kids at home. Wind Bender had a technician at our door within two hours. He diagnosed a bad ignitor, had the part on his truck, and had us warm again before bedtime. Fair price, no pressure, just honest work.
We had a sewer backup on a Sunday morning and Wind Bender had a plumber at our house within a couple of hours. He cleared the line, ran a camera through it, and showed us exactly what was going on — no guesswork. The price was fair and he cleaned up after himself. Professional from start to finish.
