IS IT TIME?
Water heaters usually warn you before they fail, and a failed tank can mean a flooded basement. Spotting the signs early lets you replace on your schedule. If you notice any of these, contact us.
Most tanks last 8–12 years. Past a decade, failure risk climbs quickly.
Running out sooner than you used to points to sediment or a failing element.
Discolored or metallic-smelling hot water often means the tank is corroding.
Any pooling or dampness at the base is a sign the tank may be failing.
Sediment hardening in the tank makes noise and steals efficiency.
An aging, sediment-filled heater works harder and costs more to run.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A standard gas or electric tank water heater typically runs about $1,400 to $2,600 installed, while tankless and hybrid heat-pump units generally run $3,000 to $5,500 installed because of the added equipment and venting or electrical work. The final price depends on the unit you choose, your home’s existing connections, and any code upgrades. After a free assessment we give you a firm, itemized quote.
It depends on your household. Tank water heaters cost less up front and suit most homes well. Tankless units cost more initially but deliver endless hot water, take up far less space, and use less energy, a great fit for larger families or homes that run out of hot water. A hybrid heat-pump tank is the most efficient tank option. During your estimate we’ll compare the options for your usage and budget.
Often, yes. We stock the most common tank sizes, so if your heater fails we can frequently install a replacement the same day. Tankless and hybrid installations, or jobs that need venting, gas, or electrical changes, may take a bit longer. Call us and we’ll let you know what’s possible for your situation.
A traditional tank water heater lasts about 8 to 12 years, while a well-maintained tankless unit can last 20 years or more. Regular flushing to remove sediment extends the life of any water heater. If yours is past a decade old, showing rust, or not keeping up, it’s wise to plan a replacement before it fails and floods.
The right size depends on your household’s peak hot-water demand: how many people, bathrooms, and simultaneous uses you have. An undersized unit runs out; an oversized one wastes energy. For tankless, we size by flow rate and temperature rise instead of gallons. Our plumber calculates the right capacity during your free estimate so you always have enough hot water.
Yes. We offer flexible financing with approved credit so you can spread the cost over comfortable monthly payments, including low- and no-interest options for qualified buyers. It’s especially helpful when a heater fails unexpectedly. Your plumber will review current terms during your estimate.
