Mathew Near
Matt acquired Wind Bender from the founder of the company in 2023. Born and raised in a blue-collar family, Matt has been around the trades his entire life. Seeing the trend of larger, private-equity-owned HVAC and plumbing services businesses enter the industry, Matt was compelled to build a culture that believes in earning long-term customers through transparency and ethical business practices, rather than prioritizing sales.
Matt is married to his high school sweetheart Natalie and is the father of two children, daughter Evangeline and son Miles. As a proud graduate of Ohio State, you will find him cheering on the Buckeyes on Saturday afternoons or spending time with his family and friends.

Heather Rogusky
Office Administrator
Heather wears many hats at Wind Bender, handling payroll, permits, accounts payable and receivable, scheduling, and even home warranty processing. Since joining the industry in 2021, she has loved working for a family-owned company that feels more like one big team. Helping customers in need and working alongside her Wind Bender family is what makes every day rewarding.
Outside of work, Heather is married to Chris, a Marine Corps combat veteran, and together they have a 10-year-old daughter, Paisley, who often tags along to the office. Their home is also full of energy thanks to their three crazy dogs. Her talents go far beyond the office: a natural performer, she’s been known to grab the mic for karaoke and has sung in multiple choirs and barbershop quartets, and on the sports side she has played basketball, swum competitively, been part of a water ballet team, and even spent time as a powerlifter.
Kayla Gilbert
Customer Service Representative
Kayla is one of the friendly voices behind Wind Bender, helping customers get the service they need with warmth and efficiency. She brings a year and a half of experience in the heating, cooling, and plumbing industry. She joined the team because it was the right fit for her family, and she quickly fell in love with the supportive, family-like atmosphere.
At home, Kayla has a full and lively house. She’s a proud mom to three sassy, energetic kids, ages 16, 15, and 12, who keep her busy with their sports and activities. She’s also an animal lover, sharing her home with two dogs, 15 chickens, and a bearded dragon. A creative at heart, she loves coloring and diamond painting, a hobby that requires patience and precision, much like the care she brings to her work every day.
Beth McBride
Operations Manager
Beth has been part of the heating, cooling, and plumbing industry for 20 years, gaining hands-on experience as a technician before transitioning into warehouse operations and administrative roles. As the daughter of Wind Bender’s founder, she grew up with the business and developed a deep passion for the trade. After completing HVAC school and spending time in the field, she joined the company, where she now helps keep everything running smoothly. To Beth, Wind Bender isn’t just a workplace, it’s family.
Although she works remotely from Port Richey, Florida, Beth stays closely connected to the team. She’s engaged to Zac, and together they have three grown children: James, Lexi, and Erik. Their family also includes four beloved “furry children,” their cats. When she’s not managing operations, you can find her outdoors hitting the trails in her Jeep TJ, Trash Panda, or giving back through Riseup Off-road, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting local communities. One of her more unique talents? Whip artistry, which she trained in as a teenager.
Mike Brubaker
Plumbing Supervisor
Born and raised in Bradford, Mike has been in the plumbing industry for over a decade. As Wind Bender’s Plumbing Supervisor, he thrives in the small-company atmosphere, where he can put his skills to work helping people every day.
Mike is as genuine as they come: what you see is what you get. When he’s not solving plumbing challenges, you’ll likely find him on his Harley, taking every opportunity to hit the open road. With Mike on the job, you can trust that your home’s plumbing is in experienced and capable hands.
Anthony Waterhouse
HVAC Technician
Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Anthony brings six years of industry experience to Wind Bender. A graduate of Trotwood-Madison, he was drawn to Wind Bender by its new management and the opportunity to grow his skills, especially in specialized projects like geothermal installations.
Anthony is a dedicated family man, happily married with two dogs and a proud grandfather to ten grandkids. When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and embracing his deep sense of patriotism. Whether he’s installing a new system or troubleshooting a tough problem, Anthony is committed to keeping homes comfortable and customers happy.
